Forex trading platforms report record-breaking volumes

Last month, the biggest forex markets recorded a huge increase in daily volumes.

CME Group and Refinitiv reached their highest levels since 2014, and EBS reached its highest levels since 2013.

Refinitiv achieved the highest turnover among foreign exchange products since 2010, with added value of $539 billion for all foreign exchange products, including spot forex. This includes a new peak of $400 billion for non-spot products, which means a 16% increase from February and an 8.3% year-on-year increase, while its daily volumes for Spot foreign exchange volumes, through its Matching and FXall services, hit $139 billion, an increase of 37% YoY and 45.3% from March of last year.

CME said the daily volumes of its exchange-traded product line on futures and currency options reached $133 billion, an increase of 34.9% over February and 31.3% year-on-year.

The performance of EBS, owned by CME, was also strong, showing a 45% increase since February and a massive 56.9% year-on-year increase, with a $129 billion daily volume average for spot forex last month.

FXSpotstream, Cboe, Integral and Deutsche Boerse

Rotating on the API-based FXSpotstream platform, the site posted an avg. daily volume of $54.9 billion last month, an increase of nearly 40% since February and an increase of 43% from compared to the previous year.

Cboe's HotspotFX reports daily volumes of $54.9 billion last month, an increase of 32.9% from February and 43% year-on-year.

Integral reports daily volume of $55.7 billion last month, representing growth of 40% month-on-month and 42.8% year-on-year.

Lastly, Deutsche Boerse 360T posted $37 billion in daily spot forex volumes, an increase of 35.9% from February and an increase of 71% year-on-year. That includes a new record for single-day trading of $49.9 billion on 8 March.
