US GDP: Goldman Sachs and Barclays are upgrading their forecasts ahead of today's numbers

Yesterday, Barclays and Goldman Sachs announced a bullish revision of their forecasts for preliminary US GDP figures for the first quarter of 2018 to be released today at 13:30 (London time).

Goldman Sachs anticipates growth of 2.2%, versus 1.9% in its previous estimate.

Barclays, for its part, has lifted its forecast to +1.8%, compared with +1.5% previously.

For the record, the consensus expects average growth of 2%, slowing down compared with Q4 2017 (2.9%).
