Spotware adds risk management features and mobile updates to cTrader 5.4
Spotware, the developer of the cTrader multi-asset trading platform, has released version 5.4 of its platform. The update includes native Python support for algorithmic trading, WebView plugins for mobile integration, and an advanced risk and reward management tool. The release also includes expanded APIs and improved charting features.
Native Python support expands algorithmic development possibilities
Native Python support for algorithmic trading is one of the most significant new features of cTrader Windows 5.4. Traders and developers can now create cBots, indicators, and plugins in one of the world's most widely used programming languages, leveraging its clear syntax and extensive library ecosystem. By complementing existing C# support, this update makes algorithm design more accessible and opens the platform to a broader developer community.
This release also introduces the cTrader CLI for Linux, delivered via an officially supported Docker image. This offers Linux users all the functionality of the console, including running cBots and performing backtests, while requiring minimal configuration effort.
Expanded API capabilities for deeper customisation and integration
A series of API upgrades includes new capabilities that give developers greater control and flexibility. Plugins can now include user-configurable parameters, such as cBots and indicators, making it easier to tailor functionality to specific needs. The MainMenu API has been extended to allow the integration of custom pages, dashboards, and controls directly into the main user interface, creating a more integrated experience. Indicator results can now be displayed as bars or candlesticks thanks to the new Bar Results Series feature, while the ChartFrame activation method allows a specific chart frame to be highlighted programmatically. Additionally, the Plugin Hotkeys API allows developers to save, manage, and delete custom hotkeys, adding an extra level of interactivity to plugin design.

New features in cTrader Windows 5.4 expand the platform's versatility and provide users with greater control, fostering innovation in trading and development workflows.
Enhanced WebView plugins and charts for trading on the go
With WebView plugins, traders can integrate third-party tools such as trading wizards, technical analysis widgets, symbol dashboards, and market intelligence modules directly into the mobile interface. This opens up endless possibilities for workflow customization and optimization, allowing the platform's native capabilities to be extended without leaving the app. WebView plugins are available through the cTrader Store, offering traders and brokers an accessible way to enhance their mobile experience with free and premium offerings.
Charts have also been fully enhanced in cTrader Mobile 5.4. A new time axis now provides a clearer and more accurate visualization of historical market data in time-based chart periods, helping traders analyse price movements with greater precision. The "Overview" tab for each symbol includes popular predefined date ranges such as 1D, 5D, 1M, and 1Y, providing an instant overview of market history, direction, and momentum. The new "Jump To" feature allows users to instantly jump to any past date and time on the chart via a simple calendar selector, eliminating the need to manually scroll through large data sets.
The chart settings interface has been redesigned to offer a more intuitive setup, with a full-screen expanded bottom sheet that allows traders to adjust chart styles, manage general preferences, and control the visibility of different chart elements all in one place. A selection of predefined color themes, including the default cTrader style and six additional popular palettes, allows for modification.
